    Daily Update, 4/9/2020

    Good morning AC-

Our daily opening prayer at AC: Loving God, as I begin this day, help me to live my life to the best of my ability. To be open to those who love me. To respond to those who need me. To forgive those who hurt me. To be especially kind to others with my words and actions. And to appreciate the world in which we live. Saint Agnes, Pray for us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Today is D Day. Students should only complete work for Mods 2-3-4-5-6.  Parents and students should be consistent in checking email and the online gradebook for notifications about missing assignments. Teachers may be willing to extend deadlines, but communication from students is essential about work that may be missing or late. Students who are non-responsive will likely find these opportunities reduced.

Everyone should continue to practice social distancing and stay home as much as possible. In addition to the school building, all fields in the town of Arlington (including the AC Turf Field) are closed until further notice; there should be no gatherings of any kind on the fields.

We have begun the scheduling process based on course requests. We will be in touch with families if there are issues with courses chosen as we begin to schedule students.

This will be the last daily update until next Tuesday. We will be observing Good Friday and Easter Monday as no school/no work days. Enjoy these days together as a family.

    Announcements:

We know that many may wish to reach-out for pastoral care. The priests of St. Agnes Parish are available via phone (781-648-0220), email, or a number of video conference platforms, such as Google Chat and Zoom. Their contact info is available at CPARL.org.  There are other resources and programs (including a program for HS students, Faith in an Anxious World that is Zooming on Mondays) that might be helpful to individuals and families on the site as well. Each day you are prayed for at the Facebook Live Mass broadcast from Saint Agnes Church each day at 12pm.

Please visit the resources at www.cparl.org, www.catholictv.org, www.ewtn.com or your local parish’s website for ways to join in prayer during this most holy time of the year.

The enrollment deadline is 4/17, fees already paid will be credited to the tuition balance. Please help us plan by completing this process as soon as possible. If you are not planning to return, please click the ‘Will Not Enroll’ in the packet. Thank you!

April is National Poetry Month! The English Department is sponsoring a Poetry Poster Design Contest.  Grab your favorite line of verse and bring it to life! Design something freehand or integrate graphics and animation.  Be creative and use the tools at your disposal. Entries should be submitted to Mr. Fullerton, mfullerton@achs.net with the heading “Poetry Poster Design Entry” by Friday, April 10th.  The winner will be announced during Arts Week! Click here for inspiration from the National Poetry Foundation.

A great prayer to pray together as a family at this time is the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. St. Faustina was promised that great graces would flow on the dying and the souls in purgatory. There is a novena that begins tomorrow, Good Friday, and lasts until next Sunday.

    Blessings,

    The Arlington Catholic Administrative Team
