    Good morning SAS Families,

As a school community, we continue to monitor the Coronavirus situation closely and prepare as best we can for any necessary precautions and actions that we need to take. While we do not have any plans for school closure as of right now, we want to be sure that we are prepared to begin remote learning should the need arise.

In order to prepare, our teachers have been planning what items would be most useful for students to have at home with them in the event of school closure. We know that a closure can be decided at any point, given the rapidly changing nature of this situation. We want to be sure that our students and families have all that they need at home in the event that we need to move to remote learning.

Over the course of the next two days, your child may be bringing home certain textbooks, books, practice packets, or workbooks to keep at home. This will look different for children at each grade level. Please help your child to organize and store these items in a place that makes the most sense for your family. We ask for your support in reminding your child to be particularly careful with textbooks and other items that will need to be returned eventually.

Our teachers are working diligently to plan ahead in the event that we need to move to remote learning, and we are very grateful for all of their hard work. They are thoughtfully and creatively planning to ensure that all students will continue to have access to meaningful learning opportunities at home. We will share more information with you regarding this as needed.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We will continue to update you about the situation and our school’s plan. In the meantime, please continue to remind your child of good hygiene practices and techniques!

    Blessings,

    Mrs. Oglesby
