    Good morning, SAS families!

    Here is today's Morning Prayer.

I'm sure you heard yesterday that Governor Baker extended the school closure until May 4.  Although we are disappointed to hear this because we miss being at school and greatly miss our students, based on what we've seen and heard about the situation, we are not surprised.  Teachers have been participating in meetings and discussions about how to frame this work for the foreseeable future, as we move into the 4th Quarter of the year.  We are ready to do what needs to be done in order for students to continue to learn at high levels and to prepare them for the year ahead.  Unfortunately, this decision means that we will have to cancel the spring musical, which we were all looking forward to, but there simply would not be enough time to prepare.  The 8th Grade retreat scheduled for Friday, May 1 will also be cancelled.  We are trying to think creatively of ways to honor our 8th Graders as we approach the end of their time here at Saint Agnes School.  Please don't hesitate to email me if you have ideas to share!  Every time we have to cancel another event, I find myself feeling sad about this whole situation.  This article really helped me to think about that, and name it (grief), so I wanted to share.

Please note that the regularly scheduled days off in April (Good Friday, Easter Monday, and April Vacation week) will remain days off.  We believe everyone needs time to focus on the importance Holy Week and Easter, even though that may look a little different this year, and that April Vacation week will be a nice break for everyone to just enjoy family time and a little fun.

Speaking of fun, today's fun activity suggestion is: take the learning into the kitchen!

    Shout-outs to:

K2 for their outdoor scavenger hunt yesterday!

Mrs. Skinner's 8th Grade religion class as they learn about charisms

Mr. Perrone's 8th Grade science class as they do virtual weather lessons from a local meteorologist!

    Have a great day!

    United in Prayer,

    Mrs. Oglesby
