Why Choose Arlington Catholic?

Families often ask throughout the admissions season why they should choose a Catholic high school for their child’s education, and in particular why choose Arlington Catholic.   Though I field this question more than any other in my role as Director of Enrollment, I never hesitate in my answer that an Arlington Catholic education provides students with the best opportunities to develop into a well-rounded, successful young adult, fully prepared to meet the challenges of today’s world head on.

The high school years are special, a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience for each student; because of this, choosing the right school can be a daunting task for families navigating through the many options available to families across the Greater Boston area.  We believe firmly that a Catholic education gives students an advantage for life, for it is within a Catholic high school that students receive an education rooted in faith, values, and character development.  At Arlington Catholic, our welcoming family atmosphere allows students making the transition from middle schools across more than three dozen communities to feel at home as part of one very special Arlington Catholic community.  Arlington Catholic creates an environment in which students learn self-discipline, respect for others, and the true meaning of teamwork.

At Arlington Catholic, we are charged to develop the whole person spiritually, socially, and academically.  An Arlington Catholic education prepares students to be life-long learners who contribute to the community in the hopes of making the world a better place. Students are challenged within the classroom walls to strive for excellence, while never forgetting to help those in need.   Students learn, and grow, in a safe, nurturing setting where everyone knows them; we are large enough to offer something for everyone, while at the same time being small enough where no one falls through the cracks.

How do we know this to be true?  Because we see this growth and development each and every day in our classrooms, hallways, fields, and extracurricular activities.  We hear it from our current parents and our alumni who bear witness to the impact an AC education has on them.  We see it every year, as Arlington Catholic continually produces graduates who are well-rounded academically and exceed state and national standardized testing norms, and who overwhelmingly go off to their college of choice.  But, equally important to us, we witness it as each graduate leaves with a strong sense of self, with the confidence to explore and grow in their academic pursuits with a firm moral compass to help guide them through the next stages of their lives.

If you are searching for the right fit for your student, a school which will help your student develop into their best self, than look no further than Arlington Catholic.  I welcome the opportunity to meet with your family to share with you all that AC has to offer; it truly is a special place!
